There is widespread belief that Anne rejected the role as Laurie Strode for John Carpenter's Halloween, a film from 1978. Jaime Lee Curtis was given the part. Carpenter tells us that she was in his thoughts to play the character however she decided to decline the offer. Anne doesn't recall ever approached by John Carpenter nor being offered the position. Her agent could have rejected the role for her, but with no knowledge. Glen Larson, who had provided her with the first draft script of a part in the tv show Battlestar Galactica from 1978, at first, she was chosen. The character wasn't strong enough for her to accept the part. In the future, Glen created a brand new character just for her with a much stronger character named Sheba. She accepted the Living Legend's script after having read the first 25 pages. It ran for a single season. She starred with Desi Arnaz Jr. (son of Desi Arnaz and Lucille Ball) Melanie Griffith and Robert Carradine in the film Joyride (1977) as well as co-starred with Michael Moriarty in the horror film The Dark Tower (1987).
