Dina was born in Forest Hills Queens and raised in the Queens area. But, she relocated from Queens to Dix Hills Long Island before the close of her junior high year. Her siblings include two younger ones and an older brother. Between the ages of nine and 16, her first exposure to the industry was when she began modeling. She started her acting training with The Neighborhood Playhouse in New York in which she learned Sanford Meisner's acting techniques, in conjunction with Ron Stetson, for about three years. Sandra Bullock received similar training, along with Michael Douglas and Jeff Goldblum. Leslie Nielsen, Diane Keaton are among the actors that have undergone this type of training. Her first acting role came in Beverly Hills 90210. This meant she had to move out in Los Angeles. After a few months, she landed the role as Johnny Mnemonic. For this film, she was in charge of almost every stunt and demonstrated herself as an excellent actor. As well as Matt LeBlanc's talent agency the agent of hers was in charge of a variety of recurring roles in the show Friends.
