Cynthia began her lengthy career in this business by moving from New York to pursue a career as a fashion model. Following signing a contract that lasted for 5 years with the company, she was able to get a successful start as the cover model of Essence Magazine. Cynthia's cover debut was among Essence's most popular covers, and was an instant favorite with the editor-in-chief at the time, Susan Taylor. Cynthia was able to secure her second cover soon after and set the scene for a lengthy career. Then, she went into Paris in addition to Milan.
